A person was rescued by firefighters as flames tore through a West Philadelphia rowhome overnight, officials said. According to officials with the Philadelphia Fire Department, a person was rescued after flames erupted in a rowhome along the 200 block of South 55th Street in West Philadelphia at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday. This person was taken to the hospital, but officials did not immediately provide details on their injuries. NBC10 s crews captured smoke billowing into the night sky as firefighters crawled into second-floor windows and worked on the roof of the structure early Tuesday. Crews were able to get the flames under control at about 2:30 a.m. Fire officials did not discuss what may have caused this fire, nor did they say if anyone else was in the home when flames erupted. But, an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
